Integrated Statistics is looking for an Archivist Technician to work in support of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC) located in Milford, CT.
This person will sort, digitize, and store a collection of historical documents, photographs, and films.
The primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting an inventory of holdings and assist in determination of priorities for digitizing.
- Using scanners and photographic equipment to prepare digital records of priority holdings.
- Recording and organizing files and data collected for access by users.
- Preparing tables and summary reports.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to do physical work in indoor spaces.
- Proficiency with digital imaging (scanners, photographic equipment).
- Meticulous record-keeping and organizational skills.
- Experience using common software applications (e.g. Word, Access, Excel, web-browsers etc.).
- Very good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of image optimization techniques.
- Experience working with database archives.
This position is full-time, with an expected duration of 4-6 months. The rate of pay is $21-22/hr. The position is eligible for the benefits described on the Integrated Statistics website.
